Questions

If you are starting a talent agency with musicians, is it better to boost the agency website page or the artist page?

What would the reasoning be behind boosting one or the other?

6answers

First define what you mean by boosting + your goal of boosting.

For example, if you're running paid traffic to your agency home page, consider if this is useful (monetizes).

Likely best to "boost" (I'm guessing you mean running traffic to) artist pages + then have artist pages point to a category (containing related artists) + have category pages reference your home page.

Google the term siloing for more information about various silo strategies.

Start with how you expect to monetize your efforts + design your site silo.

In my many years as an Agent, beyond the website and the artists pages, the most important thing to 'boost' is your relationships. the entire entertainment business is mostly based on that principle. happy to discuss further. best of luck.

If you're talking about Facebook I would say you're better off spending your money running direct adds to a specific demographic than boosting a page.

If you were talking about search engine optimization I would say both. You could start with the agency page and build a sub page for the artist and optimize both for the best experience.

Hi, I would definitely boost the artists first because that’s where most people are going to look first. You can start with a simple agency site but ultimately boost your artists first

You have to strengthen you house first so you can have business flowing through for you and your artists. When people can find your website and it is heavily promoted it helps everyone involved then they will see you and your artist especially if you have webpages on your website with artist photos and information your artist. Money and opportunities will go through your agency to your artists. As far as the artist boost and artist will feel that your agency is giving value to them in between opportunities if they are promoted. Cross promotion is helpful but, the agency traffic should be the first focus so that there is business opportunities for your artist and they want to stay with you.

Here are a few factors to consider when deciding whether to boost the agency website page or individual artist pages:

Agency website page: Boosting the overall agency page would help establish your agency's brand and credibility. It shows you have a stable business representing multiple artists. However, it may not directly lead to bookings for specific artists.

Artist pages: Boosting individual artist pages allows you to target fans directly interested in that artist's style, look, music samples, etc. This makes it more likely a boosted post would convert into real bookings, streams, or sales for that artist. However, boosting many artist pages could be more expensive than one agency page boost.

Goals: If your main goal is brand awareness and credibility for the new agency, boost the agency page. If your goal is to generate specific opportunities for your artists, boost the top individual artist pages first to see what performs best.

Budget: Consider your marketing budget; boosting the agency page may have a higher return on investment at first if funds are limited, versus boosting many artist pages.
