Thanks for sharing this! It brought to mind the conversation I had with a potential co-founder - that he could not keep obscene hours while building the product. It reminds me of the conundrum of physician/clinician friends who spent/spend back-to-back shifts in hospitals learning the practical part of their training. There have been discussions in the past about patient safety under such conditions. Somewhere on Startups website, the case is made for less intense work hours. How do you change-- as you call it: this "toxic work life"?
