About Lindsey

Tagline

Lindsey is a proven visionary in healthcare who is blending 4 decades in health care/health IT with 2 decades of experience navigating the mental health system for family to create a culture of daily attention to brain/mental health care.

Bio

Lindsey Hoggle presently serves founder/CEO at 2 Percent Health, a digital health start-up whose mission is to drive daily 30-minute (2%) time blocks for brain health activities and provide a blueprint of brain health for consumers in search of brain/mental health information, access points, and support.

Her vision for 2 Percent Health began in 2008, with components of the company having evolved since that time. Her dedication to this approach is driven by her personal experience navigating the mental health system during the past 2 decades.
She has a B.S. in Nutrition, M.S. in Exercise Science, holds a certificate in Project Management for Health IT Systems, has a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and is an inducted Fellow of AMIA (American Medical Informatics Association), the leading professional home for informaticians. She has received the Young Dietitians Award for South Carolina, the NIH Clinical Center Directors Award, and the 2020 HL7 Volunteer of the Year Award. She has lived in the DC Metro area for 28 years and has four adult children.
She trained as a Clinical Nutritionist and worked at multiple acute care settings across the country early in her career. Two decades ago, she transitioned her career to health IT at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), facilitating the implementation of the Nutrition Clinical Research Information System and participating in the implementation of the Clinical Research Center’s (hospital) information system.
Notable accomplishments include creating the first nutrition informatics education training (AMIA 10x10) and teaching it over the course of 7 years. She established and coordinated a Non-profit partner relationship with the Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) over the course of 8 years. She has presented at over a hundred industry events, blogged, and published in professional journals over the course of her 40-year career.
She began a consulting company in 2004, which she has used over the years for intriguing projects using health IT. In 2006, she founded the domain of Nutrition Informatics with a colleague, then spent 9 years advocating for nutrition inclusion in the policy, standards, and regulations generated by the HITECH Act (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health). During that time, the professional domain of nutrition informatics evolved to include a sizable percentage of nutrition professionals.
