With a mission to modernize and humanize professional training, Derek leads a growing team that delivers high-impact education and consulting to federal and state agencies, universities, corporate clients, transitioning service members, and individuals pursuing career advancement or change.

A 20-year U.S. Navy veteran, Derek brings extensive experience as a former staff officer, program manager, and business development executive. Since launching Blue Summit in 2019, he has architected a business that bridges the gap between theory and practice in project management, leadership, and business operations. Under his leadership, the company has consistently doubled in growth year over year, driven by its commitment to simplicity, speed, and customer focus.

An advocate for lifelong learning and preparing people and organizations for the future of work, Derek is passionate about helping people develop the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world by getting involved in multiple groups to offer mentorship and support to other entrepreneurs and military veterans. He is also a visual storyteller and design enthusiast with a deep interest in 2D/3D modeling, animation, cinematography, and AI-powered workflow automation.

Derek holds an MBA, earned designation as a Welch Scholar, and maintains a range of certifications, bringing a rare combination of military discipline, business acumen, technical skill, and creative vision to every initiative he leads.
