Hey there! If you're trying to outrank Google, in short, you need 5 things: 1- Guest post and niche edit backlinks from websites with high RD and traffic numbers 2- Tier 2 and Tier 3 backlinks driving power to your high quality, white-hat, tier 1 links. 3- Active social and press syndication (Using an IFTTT network or Storychief) across all social platforms and web 2.0s to drum up referrals and some link juice 4- Citations and Niche Directories- Use the Yelps,Upcitys, clutches, and HomeStars of the world a nudge out by using their site to drive link authority to your own with local citations. 5- Accurate and targeted anchor text profiles- This is possibly the most key step. Be sure to use the right anchor text for each style of link being built to keep it as natural as possible. That was quick but if you have any other questions, let me know and I can help! Cheers Blake

Google Analytics

please help me to decide: should I use AMP or should I turn it off?

If you notice that AMP is causing conversion decreases, I would have to suggest avoid using it. You do not need to rely on AMP to improve mobile page rank. Try doing things like keyword-optimized internal linking (perhaps via a Related articles section at the end of your posts), and mobile footer optimization. Be sure to use structured data (Schema) wherever possible as well. Remember to build quality backlinks to each page you hope to rank. In my experience, many sites do benefit from using AMP for faster page load speeds, but usually at some cost to conversion. If any questions come up, shoot me a message. Blake

Link Building

Does Tier linking that's currently effective and soon may be penalized and discovered later by the big G?

Blake Mitchell

I would recommend implementing Tier 2-3 links, but don't do it in a spammy way or abuse your anchor text ratios. If you choose legitimate web2.0s and aren't divvying away from your industry too much, they are pretty penalty proof. Only when you encounter using low quality PBNs and low quality web 2.0s do you run the risk of penalties.

How do I index links from Flickr, Tumblr, etc?

SEO & Inbound Marketing. I'll help you win online!

Hi there, You have two options - paid and free. Free- Here’s one quick, easy and completely FREE method to index your backlinks fast: -Create an account in Google Docs (you can use your existing Gmail account) - Create a new shared sheet and paste all your backlinks in it - Open the file so that everyone can access it (don’t limit its access) - Very soon Google will find the file and will crawl all your links in it. If they do not find it, add additional Google docs and do the same process, but link to your backlink sheet. The easier, but PAID process- Simply use http://onehourindexing.co/. Let me know if you need any other help, I'm available! Blake Toronto SEO Consultant https://blakemitchell.ca

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

What are the best SEO software tools for startups?

Blake Mitchell

SEO & Inbound Marketing. I'll help you win online!

I would recommend having these three tools and you will be able to do a lot. 1. Screaming Frog to Crawl your site. Alternatively, Sitebeam site crawler works for free. 2. SEMRush or Ahrefs to look at backlinks. SEMRush is cheaper so I will recommend it, although I prefer Ahrefs. These tools also provide audits and rank tracking. 3.If you are a local business, check out Yext or Brightlocal for citations and NAP consistency. 4. If you are heavily focused on content, you could benefit from Content King or Buzzsumo. If I had to choose the most barebones, I would say: SEMRush/Ahrefs + Screaming Frog. Master one tool instead of have a lot of others.
