So we've built a unique community at Teamstory (http://teamstoryapp.com) - A social network just for entrepreneurs and startups. We're getting some good numbers on iOS. Android people are requesting either a web app or android app to get in the community. The problem is we're only a team of 3 and putting our heads down on iOS right now fine-tuning the product, focusing on engagement. We're not tackling growth just yet. If you were building this product, what would you do? What do you think is the best way? Please feel free to check out the product: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/teamstory/id834137499?mt=8

While I agree with Tom, I think you might also try some crowd funding. Nothing confirms demand like users buying before it exists.

Use a video walk through of the iOS app to demonstrate the product, then reach out to the android community to see if it resonants with them. If it does they will pay. If it doesn't then be happy you didn't sink money into building it first.
