There's a couple routes you could travel. The first, is ads. You mentioned the data is usable? Do you have an API for which to grab it with? If so you could charge for access to that. But it's hard to suggest options without knowing more about the business

Are you asking about the technology or the concepts? Chris asked about the technology. You need to develop great content that people are willing to pay for. Provide some of the best of your content for free to show people what you offer. Then, provide the balance of your content behind the veil of a membership.

You can also become an affiliate marketer and simply promote other people's content. Join JVZoo or CommissionJunction or others and start promoting. Let's schedule a call if you have any follow up questions. Wishing you all the best!

I would create two tiers.

One that's free and one that is "pro" that has a monthly or annual fee for access.

Depending on what you are providing you could offer a "super pro" marketed to businesses which gives them enterprise access to the content/services and charges a premium monthly fee.

Let anyone get limited access with a free account then establish a campaign to upsell people to Pro.
You will need to gate the pro content with a membership permissions system.

We have designed a few systems like this so if you want to chat book a 30 minute session and I'd be happy to walk you though details on how to go about it. Or help you think through your strategy.

Andy gave a great answer. From my prospective you need to concentrate on the a newsletter format with three tiers; Silver, Gold, Platinum for example. Give some stuff away for free but think of these as bullet points. You don't want to give so much a way that the user has no interest in "investing" in your premium newsletter, services and products.

I say premium services and products because you should see your website as a checkout stand where people are viewing magazines with tantalizing and scandalous articles. You have to think, "What are my back-end products and services that I have to sell?"
But above all, give them enough for free to get them hooked like a baby with sweet tooth, but not enough to make them fat.
