The platform you should choose is the one that works best for your business. There are plenty of Magento 2 stores out there. There are also plenty of Bigcommerce and Shopify stores.

It sounds like the real problem is your developer is no longer interested in Magento 2 and would prefer to not have clients using it. This means you either need to find a new developer or keep your anti-Magento developer and risk a decline in quality work. You can also change to Bigcommerce or Shopify, but that can potentially be an expensive option if you don't have a good reason for doing so.


It takes time for search engines to properly index your websites. Changing the entire website within a 3 month timespan will impact your SEO for sure. Search engines love it when websites are easily identifiable. If your site looks like it's going through a mid-life crisis, it's not going to rank well.

Your lead magnet should come directly from your offering. Your full offering should contain a lot of “wins” for your customers throughout the lifetime of your relationship with them. Your lead magnet should be 1 of those wins. This demonstrates that the full offering is worth it because your customer now trust that you can deliver. Any relevant certification can help your business in my opinion. This will help show your clients you know what you're doing. Providing a high quality product will always help your business more than any certification can, but a certification can help you get your foot in the door.
