Stacey Payne is currently the sole owner of Olde Lyfe Alpacas, LLC. Founded in March 2017, with the purchase of the first three alpacas. In January 2026, she purchased the 76 acres in Janesville CA which will become Alpaca Advantures at Honey Lake.

Stacey has spent her adult life in some form of service to others. She found quickly, in her twenties, that it was her life’s mission to help those less fortunate. She dedicated 25 years working in the substance abuse/mental health field.

Stacey has excelled in the behavioral health field, working in many of the niche areas of the substance abuse recovery industry. She started her substance abuse field training as the Admission Director, she led the team to righting the floundering 22 bed facility, and within two years, revenue increased to over $10million yearly. With the addition of 2 additional facilities, they brought the total client capacity to over 100. Staevy was promoted to an executive level, being named Senior Director of Expansion. She has multiple accreditations, in the mental health field, which have allowed her to apply the fundamentals of recovery in many different settings. In 2013, she brought her experience in counseling, with her 30+ years in management positions, to her startup company Blue Cove Homes, which quickly achieved a high-level of success. By the end of 2016, when she sold her equity, the company was on track to their first 1 million in annual revenue.

By applying her knowledge of business management, marketing, Stacey has grown to be highly recognized for her work in the alpaca and livestock field and is widely known as an exceptionally talented alpaca shearer. Finally settling the herd, on leased land in 2022, she planned how to grow Olde Life Alpacas into a destination spot for travelers and visitors from all over the world. In July 2023, the first campers arrived to the ranch, and now, at the end of the 3rd summer, Stacey and Olde Life Alpacas have been awarded Best in State, Best Camp in the US, Alignable Business person of the year in Carson City, and Stacey is blessed to show 4.5+ Stars on Google, Yelp, Harvest Host and Hips Camp with hundreds of almost 5 Star reviews…

Stacey has created an award-winning herd (multiple ribbon winners at National Events), brokers the sale of alpacas to new owners, and, many times, acts as a mentor to many of those buyers as they grow their herds. Stacey has also been successful in establishing, and growing, a yearly shearing route through 6 western states. In 2023 she and her shearing assistant sheared 931 animals. In 2024, they to grew by 60% to 1,400 animals, and 2025 saw another huge growth to just under 1800 animals shorn. The shearing route growth has been from 1) high quality work and 2) word of mouth marketing. This is a seasoned and self-sustaining part of Olde Life Alpaca’s business revenue.

In 2023, the ranch welcomed its first campers and since has garnered several prestigious accolades, including Best HipCamps in Nevada and Best Farmstays in the U.S. Olde LYFE Alpacas In the realm of alpaca shearing, Stacey has built a successful route across six western states, significantly increasing productivity year-over-year. 2024 saw almost 1800 animals shorn in just over 4 months. With her dedication to quality and mentorship for new alpaca owners, Stacey Payne is a pioneering figure in ranching and behavioral health, fostering growth and community connection.
