I'm a 17-year special education veteran and mom of four incredible children—each with their own unique learning needs. But long before any of those roles, I was that child —the one who slipped through the cracks.
I was a learning-disabled student who learned how to mask my struggles at a very young age. Because I appeared "fine," my needs were missed. I was overlooked, misunderstood, and eventually held back. No one identified that I needed an IEP. I just kept trying harder, quietly wondering what was wrong with me.
My success is owed in large part to my single mother, an immigrant who fought tirelessly for me. Without formal training or resources, she navigated a confusing and intimidating special education system to ensure I received the services I was entitled to. She showed me what advocacy looks like when the stakes are everything.
Years later, I became a special education teacher so no child—and no parent—would ever have to feel that alone. But it was my passion for education reform and advocacy for underserved communities that ultimately led me to the work I do today. I’m driven by purpose and inspired by the daily challenges that come with solving complex, human-centered problems. As an Educational Specialist and IEP Advocate, I’ve seen firsthand how intentional support can transform a child’s trajectory—and empower families who often feel unheard in the education system.
I bring a straightforward, values-driven leadership style, grounded in:
• Prioritizing meaningful initiatives
• Uplifting family voices
• Promoting wellness and equity
A lifelong learner and avid reader, I view knowledge as a tool for empowerment—whether I’m decoding an IEP, mentoring an advocate, or helping my own children explore new ideas. I thrive on researching what I don’t yet know, and translating it into impact.
Specialties:
• IEP Advocacy & Evaluation
• Special Education Strategy
• Parent Empowerment & Coaching
• Cauliflower Buffalo Wings (Yes, really.)
