Every organization moves at the speed of its clearest thinking.
When teams stall, decisions loop, and good initiatives lose momentum, capable people do what humans naturally do inside complex systems. They work harder on what they can already see. They measure where it hurts. The structural habit underneath the pain stays invisible because nobody inside has enough distance to name it.
I call that wound analytics. Most organizations are running it constantly without realizing it.
I've spent more than twenty years being brought into organizations at those moments. Not to run a change management program or install a new system. To read what's actually there, ask the questions the room stopped asking itself, and stay until the thing that's been stuck actually moves.
The organizations that break through aren't the ones that push harder. They're the ones willing to question the thinking that got them here. That's a harder ask than it sounds when you're inside a system that's been running long enough for the habits to feel like facts.
The engagement model I use is called DIRECT. Six phases from honest diagnosis to a growth alarm that monitors momentum after the work is done. The growth alarm is what separates this from most consulting engagements. What was built keeps moving rather than requiring triage when it quietly starts to drift.
I co-founded a brewery, ran it seven years under real financial and partner pressure, and exited through a structured buyout. I co-own an independent cinema my wife and I deliberately repositioned when the market shifted and a third of our competitors closed. I've been on the other side of every conversation I now have with organizational leaders. That changes what I'm willing to say and what I'm actually able to hear.
