A nationally recognized transplant and liver cancer surgeon with over 20 years of leadership at leading academic institutions, including Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, and the University of Utah. An international thought leader in transplant oncology, she founded and chairs the American Society of Transplant Surgeons’ Transplant Oncology Task Force, helping establish standards for multidisciplinary care and patient selection. In 2024, Dr. Baker launched LORI – the Liver Oncology Reimagined Initiative, an AI-powered, EMR-integrated orchestration ecosystem designed to address systemic fragmentation, variation, and inequity in liver cancer care. LORI enables coordinated, evidence-adaptive decision-making across teams while generating real-world clinical evidence to accelerate translation of innovation into everyday patient care.
