Unconventional Founders Community

Wednesday Mar 12th, 20259:00 pm UTC

Description

  • Are you a startup founder who is breaking away from the traditional mold of business?
  • Are you charting your own course and defying conventions in how you run your company?
  • Do you have an unconventional issue you are grappling with?

Then welcome to our group-- Unconventional Startups!

We are 3 Founders Group Community Leaders who rotate hosting the weekly meeting:

  • Kirsten Barrie -- Steve Jobs meets Count von Count
  • Kerry Cooke -- Wonder Women meets Cesar Millan
  • Robert Berg -- Columbo meets Yoda

Our support group is for those who are not afraid to take the road less traveled and are looking for a safe space to share their unconventional ideas without fear of judgement or being told to "color inside the lines."

Together, we'll share our successes, failures, and strategies for navigating the uncertain waters of innovation. We'll provide guidance and support to help you navigate the unique challenges of running a startup that doesn't fit the traditional mold.

Join us and be part of a community that celebrates and supports unconventional thinking and unconventional ways of doing business. Let's make the world a little more extra-ordinary… One startup at a time.
This is part of a breakout room in Wednesday's cohort meeting.

Hi There! The Unconventional Founders Community sounds good. This may or may not be the platform for me to share this as a Founder. Respectfully, I share. No AI, just me expressing. You mentioned, "Unconventional Thinking" In your world, would that be the same as, "Thinking Outside The Box?" Which happens to be my mindset and those of like minds. Creators, Innovators, Artistry, and World Changers. I have found when these extraordinary minds are misunderstood or misplaced it tends to be an energy drainer. I have a question on that. Why is it so difficult for Investors to connect with Founders & Entrepreneurs who has overcome a certain degree of milestone? The Founder has PROVED that they are serious about their project. Yet Investors tend to make it so unnecessarily difficult to make the connection.

Not to mention, the undertone shenanigans that one has to ignore and act and conduct yourself like that’s not what you are experiencing. Constantly paying for programs for same information you have been hearing for years. Sure you may learn something new here and there. However, when your product concepts has been validated by industry leaders and the only thing slowing you and your team down the is the politics and the game that’s been played forever.

Can I be honest here? Ok, so now you are information overload. The talking heads start to sound like the adults in "The Peanuts" as in “Charlie Brown” cartoon. Waa, waa, waa. After hearing the same stuff over and over with a different twist, and when you try to share that with the leaders of that community they either act like they don’t understand where you are coming from or you are the one with the problem. I have networked with many people over the years. For some it's nothing new.

You say to yourself, THERE HAS GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY! Another important question I would like to ask. If Investors are interested in a particular market, why don't they just reach out instead of having such a long drawn out process. I had investors who believe in me and my project(s) and was willing and did invest off the top. I'm here as I need to raise much more to bring our products into fruition. I look forward to when the opportunity present itself when I will create a platform that would meet the Founders where they are and paying more attention to all of their due diligence. Understanding that all platforms are not created equal nor operates the same. That includes, mindset, culture, fairness, and inclusivity.

There should be a platform of some sort where Founders can go to also vent online and comfortably share their challenges as Founders & Business Owners. No weird stuff, just freedom of expression and with solutions. I tried to avoid too much noise, meaning, social media and other news outlets. It’s too much of a reminder of what's really REAL. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to reach out. Peace & Blessings!
