Connecting an Apple iCloud Email Account

Follow these steps to connect your Apple iCloud Mail account. iCloud requires a unique, app-specific password to connect to third-party applications.

1. Generate an App-Specific Password

  • Sign in to appleid.apple.com.
  • Go to the Sign-In and Security section.
  • Select App-Specific Passwords.
  • Click "Generate an app-specific password", give it a label (e.g., the name of your app), and copy the password it provides.

2. Enter Your Credentials

Use the following settings in the app, pasting the app-specific password you just copied into the password field.

IMAP (Incoming Mail)

  • Server: imap.mail.me.com
  • Port: 993
  • Encryption: SSL/TLS
  • Username: Your full iCloud email (e.g., example@icloud.com)
  • Password: Your generated app-specific password

SMTP (Outgoing Mail)

  • Server: smtp.mail.me.com
  • Port: 587
  • Encryption: TLS
  • Username: Your full iCloud email
  • Password: Your generated app-specific password

Troubleshooting

The most common error is using your regular Apple ID password instead of an app-specific one. Please ensure you have generated and used the correct password.
