Michael A. Holmes is the Founder and CEO of HMA Tech LLC, an AI and software company developing intelligent operating systems for manufacturing, enterprise decision-making, continuous improvement, workforce performance, and organizational efficiency.
HMA Tech’s growing product portfolio includes DecisionOS, an enterprise decision-intelligence platform; KaizenOS, an AI-enabled continuous improvement platform; TroubleshootOS, an intelligent manufacturing troubleshooting and maintenance platform; and Navis OS, an intelligent scheduling and personal productivity platform. The company is building a broader portfolio of scalable AI intellectual property designed to solve complex operational problems across manufacturing, business, workforce, and government environments.
Michael is also the Founder and Chief Consulting Officer of HMA Consulting Group, a learning, leadership, and operational improvement consultancy serving manufacturers, nonprofits, workforce organizations, and other enterprises. His consulting work in leadership development, Lean and Six Sigma, workforce strategy, organizational culture, continuous improvement, and AI-enabled transformation provides much of the real-world operating insight behind HMA Tech’s product development.
He brings more than 27 years of leadership experience across advanced manufacturing, aviation, furniture, industrial systems, workforce development, and organizational transformation. A Six Sigma Black Belt and experienced learning and development executive, Michael has led teams, facilitated thousands of hours of professional training, and worked across more than 30 countries.
Michael also brings significant public-sector leadership experience as an elected member of the High Point City Council representing Ward 6. His municipal work has given him firsthand experience with the intersection of public policy, economic development, workforce systems, community development, infrastructure, and organizational decision-making. He served on the One High Point Commission and chaired High Point’s community branding initiative, which helped develop the city’s “You Can Make It Here” identity.
That combination of private-sector operations, entrepreneurship, consulting, and municipal government gives Michael a distinctive perspective on how complex organizations make decisions and how technology can improve those decisions.
His work increasingly centers on the intersection of human intelligence and artificial intelligence—building systems that help people diagnose problems, make better decisions, improve performance, and execute more effectively. His current focus is scaling HMA Tech’s intellectual property portfolio through enterprise adoption, strategic partnerships, and licensing.

Policy leadership
Since joining the High Point City Council in 2019, Councilman Michael Holmes has built a policy record centered on equitable growth, community identity, workforce opportunity, infrastructure, and long-range planning. Holmes authored the policy establishing the One High Point Commission, which City Council formally created in 2022 to examine historic inequities and develop restorative economic-policy recommendations. The Commission ultimately produced recommendations addressing areas including housing, education, health, and economic opportunity. Holmes also chaired the City of High Point Marketing & Branding Task Force, leading the communitywide branding initiative that helped define High Point’s modern identity and strengthen how the city presents itself to residents, businesses, visitors, and prospective investors. City records identify the task force as chaired by Council Member Holmes, while the broader branding initiative was built around extensive public and stakeholder engagement. His broader council service has emphasized finance, prosperity and livability, transportation, housing, workforce development, and regional collaboration, with a governing approach focused on positioning High Point for sustainable long-term growth.

Councilman Michael Holmes represents Ward 6, one of High Point’s most active residential, commercial, and industrial growth areas. The district includes the NC 68/Eastchester, Wendover Avenue, Palladium, Skeet Club, Oak Hollow, Sandy Ridge, and Gallimore Dairy corridors and is experiencing some of the city’s fastest residential and commercial growth. During Holmes’ tenure, northern High Point has developed into a major advanced-manufacturing and international-investment corridor, with companies including Ecolab, Pella Windows & Doors, Opsun Systems, Superior Glove, Ethnicraft, LLFlex, and others contributing to an industrial-development footprint approaching the $200 million scale when major company investments and supporting development are considered. Ward 6 has also experienced significant commercial expansion through Palladium South, a roughly 36-acre mixed-use development with approximately $88.1 million in planned private construction investment and projected economic output of approximately $135.9 million during construction. The broader Ward 6 growth strategy has focused on connecting industrial recruitment, retail development, housing, transportation, infrastructure, and quality-of-life investments into a coordinated economic-development approach.
