Advertising with Amazon can help you grow awareness for your brand and reach shoppers searching for your products. A good product strategy should include great product placement, solid branding, attractive packaging and lots of recommendations/reviews from customers who are fans of your product.

You should check out my blog post on how to create an Amazon marketing plan. Here is a link to the article:

https://pezlogic.com/2018/04/02/how-to-create-an-amazon-marketing-plan/

The amazon marketing plan outlines a strategy that combines listing optimizations to achieve organic traffic in conjunction with paid marketing to drive more targeted traffic and reviews. You can use the strategies to develop a multi-pronged approach and utilize the many marketing tools available on the Amazon marketplace.

The marketing plan consists of three phases in order to maximize your effectiveness and return on investment. These three phases include evaluating your business to establish a baseline, setting the groundwork for your marketing strategy and finally implementing your strategy.

By following these three phases, you will be able to devise a well-informed and effective marketing plan to succeed on Amazon.

I wrote a three-part guide that discussed several niche selection techniques that you can use to find profitable products to sell. While you may not be looking for specific products but rather a niche, the principles in this series still apply.

The link to Part 1 of the series is: https://pezlogic.com/2018/05/20/tips-and-tricks-to-successful-niche-selection-part-1/

In Part 1 we review what makes a good niche and then explain the details of how to find a profitable niche. In Part 2 we introduce some powerful tips on how to refine your list, so you can pick out the best products and begin to narrow you’re your list. In Part 3 we go over how you can verify that your product ideas will actually sell. You can use the same tools and techniques in part 3 to validate that the niche you select is big enough to focus on.

It's important to start the niche selection process by letting your goals guide your decisions. The planning process becomes much easier when you know what you are trying to achieve.

Once your goals are clear it helps to brainstorm so you generate a lot of great product ideas. This is the time where you let your ideas flow, so you don’t limit your creativity. After brainstorming you begin to refine your list by using the tips outlined in Part 2. Refining your list will allow you to narrow things down so you can begin to verify that your niche ideas have a viable market.

As you travel down this journey, it’s easy to get lost in the weeds. Don’t be afraid to pause along the way to evaluate your progress. Remember, there’s no magic bullet in niche selection so taking a systematic and data driven approach will help you significantly increase your chances of success. At the same time, don’t forget to allow your interests and passions guide you. At the end of the day, you’ll want to be in an industry that interests you and you believe in.

Any business venture that you plan to embark upon should go through the “3Cs and 4Ps” exercise. You’ll soon realize how incredibly valuable and insightful this exercise is. It may seem simple, but the “3Cs and 4Ps” exercise really allows you to think about a business venture in a structured way. Once you force yourself to really go through this exercise, you’ll realize how much you didn’t know about the business idea you had in mind. This is critical because you want to know that the venture you are about to embark upon is worth giving up a secure job for.

Part of the 3Cs is to list your competitors and identify all of their strengths and weaknesses. There are many ways to do this through various forms of online and offline research.

You can read more about it at:

https://pezlogic.com/2011/10/20/the-3-cs-and-4-ps-a-critical-first-step-in-business-planning/

Remember that the 3Cs and 4Ps will continually need updating as your business grows and changes. It is what we call a “living exercise” so you need to come back to it often to refine your strategy and approach. The exercise may seem obvious, but once you start thinking about each step in the process, you’ll be amazed at how much more organized your business planning will become.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any follow up questions or want to learn more about business development.

One of the best ways to start a new business is to start a drop-ship online business. This means that you don’t carry any inventory when you make a sale. In a drop shipping business model, you list an item for sale on your website and when a customer makes a purchase, you order it from your supplier and have them ship it directly to the customer as if it was coming from you. The beauty of this model is that you don’t carry any of the inventory risk. In other words, you list a bunch of items on your site and if some of them don’t sell, you aren’t stuck with that inventory. Your supplier is the one taking all the risk of carrying the inventory, storing it and paying for it.

This is an excellent way to generate revenue every month (like the $1000 you want to make) while avoiding a lot of the risks associated with carrying inventory.

If you want to learn more about drop-shipping you can read my blog posts on the subject at Pezlogic.com. Here is the link: https://pezlogic.com/category/ecommerce/drop-shipping/

A business is a great way to enhance your income. One way to increase the chances of your success is to learn from other experienced and successful business owners (or coaches). While making mistakes always teaches you something, it is very desirable to have access to a mentor that can show you the way.

Running a small business is very challenging to say the least. A small business owner is expected to deal with some of the most difficult problems imaginable, include figuring out a way to pay the bills, making sure sales are strong, deciding where to invest precious marketing dollars, not to mention employee issues, technical disasters as well as a host of other things. No matter how difficult things get, there’s always a solution. It’s important that small business owners seek the advice of other people with similar experiences in order to gain insights into tackling these day-to-day business challenges.

After years in the e-commerce industry I have gained a tremendous amount of experience through my successes and from my mistakes. Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for my mistakes and failures because I learned a lot from them. But sometimes it's really nice to avoid costly mistakes by getting advise from an experienced coach.

A good coach can share their knowledge about pressing business issues. They can inform you about useful technologies and what it takes to run a successful business. They can give you insights into the best strategies that they have used in their own business as well as the steps you should take to avoid making some of the same mistakes they had made.

Hopefully you will benefit from this information and will use it to build your own successful businesses.

If you have an pressing business issues or follow-up questions please feel free to reach out so we can discuss them.

I went through the exact same experience. I was working for a software consulting agency making a very good salary. However, I started an online business on the side that began to grow quickly. I was faced with the decision to stay in my secure job or to officially expand my online business. There were a lot of things to consider but my favorite activity to organize my thoughts is to go through the the “3Cs and 4Ps” exercise.

This all depends on the size of your store. If you are just starting out you can get a feature-rich store on Shopify for $29 per month. You'd be surprised how many features they provide. For small to medium sized business, Bigcommerce is also a good option. If you are a bigger company, both Shopify and Bigcommerce have enterprise-level options as well. There are also some free options like WooCommerce, which is a plug in for Wordpress.
