Should I require users to verify their email address first before they have full access to their account, or NOT to reduce "signup friction"?

I'm stuck in deciding if I should have users "verify their email address" first; which I'm guessing will lead to "lower" signups, but "higher" quality leads. Or have users NOT verify their email; which would reduce "signup friction" but probably lead to "higher" signups, but "lower" quality leads.

Just add validation to the email field to see if it's the right format any way. This will reduce friction and increase accuracy while keeping only 1 field.
