Questions

I've been writing articles to publish on my new blog and I think it's time to get them online. I've been working on my blog while being inspired by the story of Mashable founder and how he managed to grow a media empire from his home. Not to say that I'm slacking or anything, I was doing my research and writing enough content to publish on my website. It's similar to Vox.com or Buzzfeed.com but with a different taste. The problem is I'm not entirely sure about my strategy to "push" the website. How to attract the first 1,000 visitors? How to find an audience? The internet is a cruel place and websites easily get lost. How do I prevent this from happening?

There really isn't a "market" for your own personal blog posts. You need to be publishing in OTHER media sources like Buzzfeed, Vox, etc...Of course link back to your site so you can collect email addresses and build your list. Think of your customer or target audience? Where do they live already? What blogs are they visiting, what groups do they belong to, what newsletters do they subscribe to? Should be easy if your customers are just like you.
